- Educated to A-Level or equivalent (i.e. capacity to learn, ability to recall and apply knowledge, analyse information, demonstrate critical thinking skills, and stick with challenging tasks over time).
- Demonstratable experience in grant writing with a proven track record of securing income from Trusts, Foundations, and/or Grant Makers.
- Experience in identifying, researching, and developing funding opportunities.
- Working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Building and nurturing relationships with grant-making bodies.
- Working to ambitious targets and building and maintaining a pipeline.
- Understanding of the Trust and Foundation landscape, with awareness of tools and approach to researching potential funding matches.
- Basic understanding of project budgeting and grant compliance.
- Basic proficiency Microsoft Office Suite and capacity to learn
- Ability to prepare compelling, persuasive, tailored funding proposals to inspire significant grants.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Strong prioritisation and time management skills and the ability to manage a full workload with limited supervision whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Research skills for conducting research to stay ahead of evolving funding landscapes and requirements.
- Genuine passion towards creating a positive impact in the lives of older people and unpaid carers.
- Reliable and organised, consistently driving applications forward with meticulous attention to detail and maintaining high standards for shaping and refining overall proposal content.
- Can work well alone and as part of a team.
