Rostering ClerkWe are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Rostering Clerk to join our Operations team, with a focus on workforce planning for Overhead Line (OHL) staff. This critical role is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and real-time adjustment of staff rosters, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesRostering & Workforce PlanningDevelop and maintain rosters for OHL staff in alignment with operational and safety requirementsEnsure sufficient cover for planned works, emergency response, and standby dutiesAllocate shifts based on competency, fatigue management, and compliance with working time regulationsCompliance & Records ManagementMaintain accurate records of working hours, attendance, and shift patterns using workforce management systemsEnsure all rostering complies with safety standards, internal policies, and union agreementsTrack and record absences, annual leave, and training daysCommunication & Stakeholder CoordinationServe as the main point of contact for roster-related queries and updatesDistribute rosters and communicate changes clearly and promptlyCollaborate with depot managers, planners, and supervisors to understand workforce demandsOperational SupportReact promptly to urgent or last-minute staffing requirementsAdjust rosters dynamically in response to faults, emergencies, or short-notice worksProactively identify and escalate risks related to staffing levels or non-complianceEssential Skills & ExperienceDemonstrated experience in administrative, rostering, or scheduling roles within operational or safety-critical environmentsStrong organisational and prioritisation skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailDesirablePrior experience within the rail, engineering, or utilities sectorUnderstanding of OHL operations and associated competenciesFamiliarity with trade union agreements and rostering practices in unionised environmentsKey CompetenciesSafety-conscious and compliance-orientedFair, transparent, and professional approach to workforce planningProactive and adaptable, particularly in fast-paced or changing circumstancesThis is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a structured mindset and a strong sense of accountability.
