Assistant Housekeeper for Orient Express Sailing YachtsDepartment: HotelEmployment Type: ContractLocation: ShipboardDescriptionV.Ships Leisure is looking for Assistant Housekeeper on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.
The Assistant Housekeeper's role is to assist the Chief Housekeeper in the management of the housekeeping department, which includes supervision of the staff in charge of servicing all suites, adjoining areas, public rooms and crew areas as allocated. The key responsibility is to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, tidiness, co-operation and guest liaison within the housekeeping department, and to foster adherence to excellence amongst the crew members. Additional responsibility include overall uniform management.Key Responsibilities
  • Performs regular and irregular inspections of housekeeping workplace.
  • Responsible for the development of housekeeping training sessions, upkeep of all training forms used and for training the new hires according to the housekeeping manual.
  • Upholding all policies including company SOP's.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all guest suites and public/crew areas are cleaned and set up to company standard.
  • Responsible for re-filling supplies, to ensure that housekeeping lockers are fully stocked and tidy, at all times.
  • Responsible for replenishing and maintaining the flower program onboard.
  • Responsible for compiling all necessary name lists, special requests and schedules prior to embarkation.
  • Assist the Chief Housekeeper in the daily management of the housekeeping personnel, including scheduling, discipline, resolving issues and programming special tasks/duties.
  • Uphold USPH standards within the department and conduct regular self-inspection to confirm compliance.
  • Motivate and guide the housekeeping team in their daily duties, conduct daily briefings together with the Chief Housekeeper.
  • Ensures the pier guest welcome furniture is set-up upon arrival and retrieved before departure.
  • Ensures compliance with OPRP protocols and records.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Languages: Fluent English.
  • Education: High school degree or related.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 - 3 years in a similar capacity in a luxury environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Yes
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
