Our client is a global leader in the commodities and energy supply chain, with a strong presence across Africa. They are currently seeking a dynamic Trader to join their regional team. The role focuses on regional fuel trading and market development across Southern and Central Africa, with particular emphasis on expanding in Mozambique.Reporting to the Head of Africa and as part of a fast-paced, commercially focused regional trading team, you will:
  • Develop and maintain a centralized pricing model across regional trade flows and logistics
  • Monitor and analyse competitor pricing and market trends
  • Lead trucking and logistics strategy, including contract management and fleet development
  • Manage exposure and inventory through the Beira terminal
  • Identify and execute trading opportunities in collaboration with sales and business development teams
  • Contribute to broader commercial initiatives, including potential M&A activities
Strategic trading role within a leading global energy and commodities groupFocus on regional fuel tradingand market development in Lusophone AfricaYou have a trader profile with around five years of experience in trading, downstream/retail oil, upstream oil, or mining/infrastructure, supported by a relevant academic background. You have strong commercial instincts and a solid understanding of regional logistics networks, including the Tanz-Moz and Beira corridors. You have fluency in Portuguese. You have an outgoing, confident approach and are comfortable building relationships both internally and externally. Additionally, you have an analytical mindset, capable of interpreting market trends, managing exposure, and contributing to pricing strategies that drive profitability.This role can be based in Maputo, Luanda, or South Africa.Our client is a global leader in the commodities and energy supply chain, with a strong presence across Africa.Excellent salary and bonus
