About The Crown EstateThe Crown Estate is a unique organisation managing one of the UK's most diverse property portfolios worth £16 billion, from central London real estate to the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Following the Crown Estate Act 2025, we have gained new borrowing and investment powers that will enable us to accelerate our contribution to the nation's Net Zero ambitions and economic growth. We operate as a commercial business while fulfilling our constitutional role, returning our profits to HM Treasury for the benefit of the nation - over £5 billion in the last decade alone. The OpportunityThe recent change in Government Procurement legislation, following the introduction of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) has changed the way in which The Crown Estate (TCE) needs to manage all procurement-related activity. In addition, The Crown Estate Act 2025 has introduced borrowing and new investment powers to futureproof the organisation and help it to create financial, social and environmental value. It is incumbent on Procurement to ensure that processes are optimised to underpin this new focus. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead procurement transformation across The Crown Estate's diverse portfolio, establishing world-class commercial frameworks that will support our enhanced strategic capabilities under the new Act.The role offers the chance to operate at the intersection of commercial excellence and constitutional responsibility, working with fascinating stakeholders from offshore wind developers to central London property partners, all whilst interfacing with HM Treasury and other government departments. The Director of Procurement and Supplier Relationship Management role is vital in ensuring that TCE can meet its operational needs while optimising costs and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and transparency in full alignment with the PA23.You will be responsible for the development, delivery and implementation of the procurement strategy for TCE, of which a pivotal part will be the introduction of a Supplier Relationship Management Programme as well as ensuring that value for money is achieved through the acquisition of goods and services. A clear ability to collaborate with key senior stakeholders and supplier executives to ensure full alignment of procurement activities with TCE's overall goals and objectives will be critical, as well as the ability to align the Procurement function with core TCE values of Creating, Together, Caring and Impactful. The preferred method of application is online.
