Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey by creating a National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.We’ll talk a bit more about us further down the page, but for now – let’s talk about the role and who we’re looking for…The Allwyn UK Corporate Affairs team’s mission is two-fold - to promote and protect the reputation of Allwyn UK as the custodian of The National Lottery, and to create excitement and a positive landscape for The National Lottery to flourish. Corporate Affairs comprises the following sub-functions: Communications, Assurance and Regulation, Public Affairs and National Lottery Relations, and Social Value.The Business Manager will report to the Director, Assurance & Regulation, and will work proactively and collaboratively with the leadership of each team comprising the Assurance & regulation function: Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Regulation, Risk and Compliance and Regulatory Assurance. The main focus of the role is to support the Assurance and Regulation team with planning, prioritisation and delivering strategic outcomes for business stakeholders and the team. This role will be responsible for quickly establishing an understanding of inflight work undertaken across the function within each team, identifying links with corporate strategic priorities, tracking deliverables and timing, planning and resource management. You will work collaboratively with the Business Manager to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer to ensure consistent and comprehensive program and resource management across the division.Role Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director Assurance & Regulation and leadership team in the planning and successful delivery of the functional business plan and mapping to broader Corporate Affairs functional strategy and integrated business plan.
  • Working with the Business Manager to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, lead and co-ordinate the scheduling and management of corporate annual business plan priorities including maintenance of the functional roadmap.
  • Coordinate and plan the allocation of resources to priorities including assisting with coordinating periodic budget reforecasting and recruitment planning.
  • Plan and coordinate necessary governance for functional work programs, driving teams to deliver to agreed timings.
  • Maintain key project updates and prepare reports for management reporting of progress against deliverables.
  • Take ownership of governance calendars, managing the agenda for key Assurance & Regulation project including internal and Board-level compliance and risk governance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the Assurance & Regulation team, the Corporate Affairs function and across Allwyn UK and foster collaborative working to implement business and functional strategies
  • Attend regular meetings with the Director of Assurance and Regulation (and LT where appropriate), capture actions and decisions, directing these to the appropriate business owner to ensure completion
  • Write the monthly CA Board paper updates, co-ordinating with CA SLT
  • Facilitate leadership team meeting and ensure follow-through on decisions
  • Help prepare materials for senior leadership presentations
  • Help track functional KPIs and success measures
Key Measures of Success:
  • Build effective working relationships and co-ordination across all teams
  • Successful capturing, tracking and planning for the implementation of strategic priorities and projects across Assurance and Regulation
  • Improvement in functional efficiency, resource allocation, prioritisation, reporting and collaboration
  • Successful management of key cross-functional initiatives
  • Effective and proactive support for the Director and LT on tracking and providing visibility of what we are doing, when we are doing it, why we are doing it
