As a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the Head of Finance and Business Management is responsible for overseeing all financial and business functions, including financial strategy, sustainability, fundraising, and day-to-day operations.The role requires regular and proactive communication with the CEO and Board, ensuring they are fully informed of current and forecasted financial positions, as well as any associated risks or implications.This position also includes direct line management of the Finance, Fundraising, and Facilities teams, providing strategic and operational leadership across these areas.Essential Criteria
  • A recognised degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an alternative route to qualification (e.g. accounting technician), plus full professional membership (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, etc.).
  • At least 5 years' senior-level experience in a commercial finance role, with a strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment, including cross-functional collaboration and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of using financial modelling and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a history of achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with sharp attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as Sage, plus a strategic mindset and inclusive leadership style.
