Job DescriptionA growing and successful organisation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Control Manager to take ownership of its credit control function and contribute to process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost-saving initiatives.Role Overview
Reporting to senior finance staff, you will oversee the complete credit control process, ensuring timely payments, accurate reporting, and effective financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to influence key processes and deliver measurable improvements across the finance department.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full credit control process from start to finish.
  • Lead efforts to recover outstanding payments.
  • Support month-end billing procedures.
  • Reconcile debtor control accounts and intercompany balances.
  • Oversee provisions for bad debts.
  • Maximise supplier turnover rebates.
  • Analyse revenue from specific operational areas (e.g., retail or catering).
  • Address and challenge credit card chargebacks.
  • Oversee purchase ledger payments, terms, and supplier discounts.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide monthly debtor analysis to senior management.
  • Assist with month-end processes and year-end audit preparation.
  • Undertake additional finance-related tasks as required.
Person Specification:
  • Previous credit control experience, ideally in a commercial setting.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
