This role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) thrive both academically and emotionally.Role Overview:As an SEN TA, you will provide targeted support to children with a variety of learning and behavioural needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in a supportive environment. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning space.Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to pupils with SEN.
- Assist in lesson preparation and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Help manage behaviour positively and in line with school policies.
- Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists as needed.
- Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
- Empathetic, patient, and adaptable in your approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant qualification or school-based experience is desirable.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide a full, up-to-date CV, with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
