Custody Business Function aims to expand Bank of China (BOC) Group’s network of UK sub-custodians to increase BOC London Branch’s Assets under Custody, while also collaborating with other market infrastructure providers (ICSDs) to build BOC London Branch’s market capabilities. The Function is responsible for Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Pricing and Operations Processing.The Custodian Services team is responsible for the safekeeping and administration of financial assets, primarily by financial institutions like banks or trust companies, on behalf of individuals or institutions. As an Assistant Vice President - Product Manager Custody, you will be supporting the Custody Services team by being responsible for the product strategy and planning, product development, pricing and profitability, supporting sales and operations areas and in line with compliance needs for Custody Business. This is a full time permanent position.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the product strategy for the Custody Business department and aligning it with overall business objectives
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for the product and service and investigating business opportunities internally across Front Office business lines
  • Keep aligned with the market place to ensure a relevant and up to date service is provided to clients
  • Define product and service requirements
  • Monitor product performance and identifying areas for improvement on product features
  • Develop and implementing pricing strategies for Custody Business
  • Monitor product profitability, track revenue and cost performance
  • Support the Relationship Managers/Sales areas with product expertise, training and client presentations
  • Gather client feedback and understanding their needs to enhance the service
  • Work closely with Compliance to ensure the product complies with all relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency and alignment with the services offered
  • Drive an innovative custody product offering, exploring new service models and solutions
  • Complete tasks and duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Head of Department
Requirements
  • Degree level educated in Finance, Banking, IT or Business
  • Certifications related to custody or investment banking from CISI, such as the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) is preferred
  • Good level of experience in custody business (trading settlement/corporate action/tax)
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing custody products
  • Experience/knowledge of payment or clearing services
  • Master MS-ACCESS or DATA BASE technology is priority
  • Knowledge in SWIFT message 5XX
  • Knowledge in CASS rule
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good communication skills and fluency in Mandarin is desirable
  • Proficient in operating CREST or other CSD/ICSD systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Visio applications
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good ability to multi task
