Are you a passionate Maths educator looking to make a meaningful impact? TP Tutors is seeking skilled and compassionate Maths Tutors to work 1:1 with secondary-age pupils in Blyth and throughout Northumberland.Many of the young people you'll support have been permanently excluded from school or are unable to access classroom learning. They may also have additional needs such as SEND, care experience, or behavioural and emotional challenges. Your role will be to deliver personalised maths tuition that helps them regain confidence, build key skills, and re-engage with learning.Flexible Working That Fits Your LifeTuition hours vary based on the individual needs of each pupil. You can build up your working hours by taking on multiple learners across the area. You choose when and how much you work, allowing you to create a schedule that suits you.Your Responsibilities:Provide tailored, 1:1 Maths support matched to the learner’s ability and interestsUse engaging, adaptive teaching methods to meet a wide range of learning needsEncourage and motivate learners who may be anxious, withdrawn, or resistantDevelop lesson plans and resources that make maths accessible and relevantTrack and report on progress to help guide further learningBuild strong, consistent relationships that support both learning and wellbeingIdeal Experience:Qualified teachers or tutors with a strong Maths backgroundExperience supporting pupils with:Autism, ADHD, or non-verbal communicationSelective mutism or emotionally based school avoidanceLow engagement or challenging behaviourLooked-after children or those in care settingsPatient, empathetic and confident professionals able to adapt to individual needsComfortable working independently and creatively to engage hard-to-reach learnersWhat You’ll Receive:Competitive pay: £25–£30 per hourFull control over your schedule – take on as much or as little work as suits youA dedicated consultant to support your placements and developmentAccess to our CPD Academy with training and upskilling opportunitiesRefer-a-friend bonusA rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young person’s lifeAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
