An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our busy Estates Team as an Estates Officer.The purpose of this role will be to support the Estates Manager to ensure the Trust's electrical/mechanical equipment is maintained to statutory and mandatory standards which will ensure a well maintained safe and secure environment for our patients, staff and visitors.Main duties of the jobThe responsibilities also include maintaining and refining the planned preventative maintenance, repair and replacement programmes, minor projects work, and ensuring that current legislation, regulations and safe systems of work are adhered to.You should be qualified to Degree level or equivalent experience, plus specialist NHS knowledge in a relevant engineering discipline and have experience in the management of both contractors and in-house staff.This position will require you to participate in the Estates emergency on-call rota which includes out of hours working.About usCwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.   • Degree or HND (or equivalent) in Engineering plus equivalent significant demonstrable experience and knowledge
  • Relevant management qualification or equivalent experience of leading and managing staff within an Estates function
Desirable
  • Corporate/full member status with a relevant engineering body/institution
  • Authorised person for Low Voltage electrical systems, lifts, medical gases, hot and cold water systems (legionella) and/or management of asbestos in buildings
  • IOSH certificate for Managing Safety

  • Experience of a wide range of Estates operation and compliance systems, processes etc
Desirable
  • Experience of managing day to day professional and technical Estates and Facilities services within a mental health environment.
KnowledgeEssential
  • Proven knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and statutory obligations relating to Estates operations and compliance.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of NHS Estate code, Health Technical Memorandums in relation to engineering services and Codes of Practice relating to Health and Safety and Engineering services
