nGeneration also boasts a '20,000' sq ft HQ facility based in Tipton, in the Midlands, that is the central base for all the company's other activities, such as on-site repairs, support hub, staging and warehousing. All of the 'behind the scenes' staff are based at the HQ location, working smartly to provide the implementers with the best support and help to do the job effectively and efficiently.KEY OBJECTIVESTo manage the Staging and Configuration Team, ensuring efficient operations, accurate server maintenance, and compliance with company processes and documentation requirements.Main Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support the Staging and Configuration Team to meet business objectives.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of departmental processes and documentation.
- Manage server infrastructure (both physical and virtual) and associated assets/software.
- Ensure efficient staging processes, including image creation, version control, and deployment.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with other departments to improve workflows.
- Provide technical support and consultation as required.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, certifications, and incident reports.
- Establish and monitor KPI metrics for the team.
- Keep accurate records of daily systems builds and maintain change control processes.
- Assist in the Staging of Kit when required to meet deadlines.
- Manage all departmental assets, including hardware and software.
- Oversee the maintenance and security of servers and system images.
- Control image versioning and maintain amendment logs.
- Maintain configuration management processes with version control.
- Ensure staging certificates are issued with every job and archived for reference.
- Implement thorough testing and sign-off procedures for all equipment.
- Plan workloads and allocate tasks to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
- Ensure all team members complete necessary documentation and sign-offs.
- Maintain departmental standards, including cleanliness, backups, and system checks.
- Provide technical input on new products.
- Attend customer meetings (on-site or off-site) as needed.
- Support other departments during peak demand periods.
- Microsoft Certified Professional
- Experience in a similar technical management role.
- IT-based qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of IT retail systems and Microsoft products.
- Working knowledge of network switches and configuration.
- Proven team management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels.
