The Department of Music at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Musicology.You will have a PhD qualification or equivalent in Music or the equivalent in professional qualification, and an emerging or established career as a musicologist nationally and/or internationally. You will have an advanced and wide-ranging knowledge of musicology. You will have previous experience teaching musicology at HE level and experience of assessment at HE level.Your primary duties will include delivering the teaching and assessment of the following undergraduate modules: 'Global Music Studies' (Level 1), 'Aesthetics of Electronic and Computer Music' (Level 1), 'The Broadway Musical' (Levels 2 and 3), 'Music and War' (Levels 2 and 3), and 'Hollywood Musical' (Levels 2 and 3). You will also support the module convenors with the delivery and marking of 'Repertoire Studies I: Music Before the Twentieth Century' (Level 1), 'Elements of Music I' (Level 1), 'Repertoire Studies II: Twentieth-Century Music' (Level 1), and 'Elements of Music II' (Level 1).You will contribute to an exceptional education for undergraduates in music and make an exceptional contribution to the Department's teaching profile and culture. You will be keen to pursue opportunities for teaching development, impact, public engagement, and/or interdisciplinary work. You will offer pastoral support to students as a Personal Tutor and be keen on championing and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives. You may be assigned administrative duties to support the teaching work of the Department.We believe in an inclusive working environment for all.
