The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher role calls for someone who can tailor their teaching approaches to effectively support students with a wide range of SEND, including autism, moderate and severe learning difficulties, and complex needs.As a SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering personalised lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
- Establishing a secure, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and the SENCO to ensure cohesive support.
- Tracking student progress and applying effective strategies to aid development.
- Promoting positive behaviour through therapeutic and consistent approaches.
- Communicating with parents and external agencies to help achieve EHCP targets.
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Proven experience working with SEN students, ideally in a specialist setting.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
