The Weymouth and Portland Integrated Community Rehab Team are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work within their multidisciplinary team, based at Westhaven Hospital in Weymouth. We are a friendly team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Nurses, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Rehabilitation Assistants and a Team Administrator. We are a hardworking and dynamic team, that are committed to providing high quality care and rehabilitation to the residents within the Weymouth and Portland area through integrated and collaborative ways of working in conjunction with our colleagues within the Primary and Social Care sectors.Being a car driver is essential for this role.Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.Main duties of the jobThe Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team is a multi-disciplinary team offering therapy to a wide range of people within their home environments to prevent avoidable hospital admissions and facilitate earlier hospital discharge as well as in-reaching onto the wards. It is essential that you have experience of rehabilitation or a caring role, as well as having good verbal, written and team working skills.This role is may require a period of time working on the rehab ward and in the community. You will need to be flexible in your approach and confident to work alone. Basic IT skills and NVQ level 2/3 would be advantageous.Responsibilities will require you to work mainly under supervision of the clinicians within the team, but also to work autonomously within your competencies. You will need to have the ability to drive a car as you will be required to visit patients in their own homes and other community settings.In return for your enthusiasm and commitment, we can provide an environment for you to develop your clinical skills and experience with regular supervision and appraisals. You will be supported through training to help achieve your competencies.Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
