A global organisation are looking for an experienced professional to take ownership of their data architecture & future data strategy, as they look to leverage the latest Microsoft Azure data technologies. They've recently had the support of a Microsoft Partner to launch a brand-new Azure Data Platform with use of Databricks, and are now looking for an experienced Data Architect to own and further develop this!Please note that this is a hybrid role, requiring you to come into their Central London office 3 days per week to collaborate with colleagues.This role will involve designing, developing and implementing first-class data architectures to meet business needs, and leading the Data Engineering team who are responsible for building the data pipelines, data solutions and data infrastructure. You will also look to establish and implement data governance and management policies, and any experience with Microsoft Purview would be extremely beneficial as they look to implement this.In doing so, you'll work closely with a host of internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd party partners and vendors. You'll provide expertise on data-related matters, driving alignment between data architecture, data engineering, IT functions and business objectives.To be a good fit for this role, you'll either already be a Data Architect, or might be a Lead Data Engineer (or similar) who is looking to take the next-step in their career, into a role that will allow you to remain technically hands-on, whilst also taking a more strategic view.Requirements:
  • Experience leading on data architecture and data engineering initiatives for complex organisations
  • Experience architecting and implementing solutions using Azure data technologies including as data lake, data factory, databricks etc.
  • Expertise in data modelling, data integration and database design
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting
  • Understanding of Master Data Management - knowledge of Purview would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
