- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, annual financial statements, regulatory and investor reporting
- Maintaining best practice documentation of accounting policy and papers for material transactions and revenue recognition
- Legal entity control and consolidation
- Building robust financial control processes and strengthening internal control framework, including all related policies and procedures
- Ensuring proper books and records for all financial transactions
- Managing relationships with external auditors and outsourced accounting providers, including for regional offices in Europe
- Collaborating with other departments on accounting and tax matters as well as coordinating with internal product engineering teams and consultants on R&D projects that are eligible for tax relief
- Collate financial data for the preparation of corporation tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax legislation
- Regular reporting of financial performance, financial risk, financial control, taxation, ESG and other topical matters to the Finance & Audit Committee
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, operations and systems.
- Growing and developing a highly motivated and talented financial control team
- Senior Financial Leadership: recent experience at a Senior/Director level managing financial control in complex, multi-country, multi-entity organizations
- Industry Expertise: Proven track record in financial services or technology (FinTech, payments, banking, lending) is preferred
- Scale-Up Environment: You'll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic scale-up environment and have the desire to take ownership of critical financial operations and drive results
- Technical Proficiency: Strong financial acumen and technical accounting skills (IFRS/UK GAAP). Experience with statutory audits of financial services companies
- Professional Qualification: ACA or equivalent professional finance qualification
- Strategic & Operational Agility: Ability to transition seamlessly between strategic oversight and hands-on execution
- Stakeholder Management: Confident communicator with senior stakeholders, capable of autonomous work
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams of 20+ staff
