Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

  • Leading the planning, delivery, and reporting of a diverse audit programme
  • Managing and mentoring a team of auditors, supporting their development and performance
  • Undertaking ad hoc assignments including irregularity investigations, consultancy reviews, and responsive advisory work
  • Personally, delivering or leading on the most complex and high-risk audits and investigations, ensuring quality and insight at the highest level
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Council
  • Providing expert advice on risk, control, and governance matters
  • Supporting the development of systems and processes that embed effective controls
  • Championing continuous improvement and innovation in audit practices
What We're Looking ForA fully qualified auditor (CCAB or CMIIA or equivalent)Significant experience in Local Government / Public Sector Internal Audit along with management / supervisory skillsStrong analytical thinking with the ability to see both detail and strategic contextExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsA proactive, solutions-focused approach to challengesDesirable: Experience in IT audit and/or data analytics - while not essential, these skills would be a valuable addition to the team and support our evolving audit approachOur OfferWe have a number of rewards and benefits available to our staff, to view these please visit ourOur aspiration is to be a truly flexible employer.
