SEN Teaching AssistantResource Base KS1 & KS2September, permanent£22,000SN 11I am working with a vibrant CofE Primary school located in Calne. They are part of the Diocese of Salisbury and enjoy the support of being part of a multi academy trust. This school has an exciting opportunity for a resource base SEND teaching assistant to join both Key Stage 1 and 2. They also have a music development strategy in place that they encourage all staff and pupils to be a part of.You will play a vital role throughout the school developing children's educational, emotional and social development by working with groups of children in a resource base offering a more tailored approach to their learning. It is important you gain an understanding of each child's individual needs, whether working 1:1 or as part of a group.Responsibilities:
  • Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to pupils.
  • Providing one to one support during class.
  • Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
  • Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
  • Understanding the individual needs of pupils to best support them in class.
  • Helping pupils transition between the resource base and mainstream schooling.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEND children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
  • Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND.
  • An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
