
Intake Operator

- Greet and guide milk tanker drivers upon arrival, ensuring they follow site entry protocols.
- Conduct visual and procedural checks to confirm that tankers are fit for unloading.
- Supervise and assist with the safe connection and disconnection of pumps, ensuring no spillage or contamination occurs.
- Monitor the loading and unloading process to ensure it is carried out correctly, efficiently, and in line with hygiene and safety standards.
- Enforce strict adherence to Health & Safety (H&S) regulations and site-specific compliance procedures.
- Identify and report any unsafe practices, hazards, or equipment faults immediately.
- Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn correctly at all times and that all safety signage and barriers are respected.
- Participate in regular safety briefings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Carry out shunting of milk tankers (barrels) within the depot using a Class 1 vehicle, ensuring safe and efficient movement.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free yard, including designated parking and loading areas.
- Support the coordination of vehicle flow to avoid congestion and ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct routine checks of the yard and report any maintenance or cleanliness issues. Act as a key point of contact between the transport operations team and on-site personnel.
- Communicate clearly with drivers and operations staff regarding vehicle arrivals, departures, and loading/unloading status.
- Use radio or digital systems to log and track vehicle movements and report any delays or incidents.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of logistics and intake schedules.
- Complete all required intake logs, checklists, and compliance forms accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report any non-conformances, delays, or incidents to the on site transport operational team
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of milk tankers is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Competitive Salary: Salary from (Days) £32,288.62pa to £35,159.21pa (Nights) £35,564.62pa to £38,435.21pa(including night shift allowance) and MORE! Depending on hours worked.
- Shift Hours: 06:00hrs – 18:00hrs, 18:00hrs to 06:00hrs, based on 4on 4off rota!
