Full UK Driving Licence
NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Care

Your role will involve working with our young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills. You will also update online care records and complete medication administration. In addition, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the home ensuring the young people live in homely environment.At our home in Bolton, you will be working with young people who have a variety of mental health diagnosis including Emotionally unstable personality disorder and complex Trauma, and those who use self-harm as a strategy to cope with their emotions. As such, you will be required to be patient, calm and resilient as the support you will be providing to our young people will include helping them to develop their relationships within the community and managing incidents of self-harm.All young people at the service require support to engage in activities of daily living and improve their independence skills so that they can work towards living in the community once the placement ends. Therefore, you will be supporting this transition through things such as: supporting them to self-administer their own medication, getting back into education, accessing public transport and appointments independently. Our young people are very adventurous and engage in a variety of activities including going to theme parks, horse Riding, attending driving lessons, they also like to camp out so you will be encouraged to bring your hobbies to work and create new ideas of interests so there is lots of fun and new experiences.The home is a 5-bed service and is in Heaton, Bolton. It is also a short drive or bus journey away from the centre of Bolton, so is close enough to numerous local amenities. The house is a picturesque large property, which is well maintained and homely, making it a lovely environment to work in. There is also huge garden attached to the rear of the house, making it a perfect place for growing vegetables and playing outdoor games and all-important outdoor camping trips.Previous care experience is not essentialand full training will be provided. You will receive ongoing support and mentoring from our friendly residential and clinical team.The job is highly rewarding and a great start to developing your career working with young people or enhancing your previous experience of mental health with the opportunity for excellent career development.
