Five Education is working with a small, welcoming primary school near Batheaston to recruit a committed 1:1 teaching assistant to support a child with special educational needs and disabilities. This position is set to begin in September and will likely run for the full academic year, with the potential to extend.The school is known for its supportive staff and inclusive ethos. You'll be joining a nurturing team that works closely together to ensure every child feels valued and supported. The role will involve working closely with one child, providing tailored, consistent support to help them access the curriculum, regulate emotions, and thrive within the school environment.Previous experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your patience, reliability and willingness to learn. You'll receive support and guidance from your dedicated Five Education consultant, along with access to free training such as Makaton, Team Teach and PMLD Awareness.Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day, adapting activities to meet the child's needs
  • Foster a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to follow individual support plans
  • Support the child during playtime and lunchtime to ensure their well-being and inclusion
Essential Criteria:
  • Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30 (term-time only)
  • Right to work in the UK - we cannot offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas
  • Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one*
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.What can Five Education offer you?
