Job descriptionEnglish Teacher – BasingstokeProspero Teaching are working closely with a Good Ofsted rated mixed secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire, who are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their established department. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school where behaviour is excellent and staff wellbeing is valued.   • Location – Basingstoke, Hampshire
  • Position – Teacher of English
  • Contract or position start date – September 2025
  • Duration / Likely Duration – Permanent
  • Full time/part time – Full time
  • Minimum rate of pay – Paid to scale
  • Hours – 8:30 am – 3.30pm, plus parents evenings and department meetings.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year English teaching experience in the UK
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
