We're continuing to mature and build out a Global Deal Desk team that acts as strategic partner to our Regional Sales Account Executives and Leaders. As Canva scales, we are seeing more deal volume and more complex deal structures and Deal Desk is becoming an evermore important function within the Finance org of Canva. This role is aligned to the EMEA Sales team and will play a critical role in helping us navigate the complexity of diverse markets, partner-led motions, and region-specific GTM models across the region.What you'd be doing in this role
- Actively partner with Sales on strategies and plans for closing complex deals
- Drive solutions on deal structures that contribute to positive outcomes for Sales and our customers
- Collaborate with impacted parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closures
- Advocate for Sales and partner with internal organizations to understand complex sales issues
- Subject matter expert in one or more complex models, processes, or policy implementations within Deal Desk
- Develop and deliver training to both Deal Desk and Sales on those complex areas
- Review and approve quoting on pricing models within Salesforce for subscriptions and professional services
- Create Order Forms for standard terms and conditions.
- Manage the documentation of approvals through the deal cycle which often includes interaction with the Legal, Finance, RevRec, and Support functions
- Ensure order documentation is complete, all approvals have been obtained, order entry checklist has been completed, and the order package is submitted for booking
- Work with teammates and management to identify process improvement and sales training opportunities
- Strive to meet or beat published service level agreements
- You have 3-5 years experience in Deal Desk, Finance, Strategy, or similar - ideally in SaaS with a regional GTM structure
- You bring hands-on experience supporting EMEA go-to-market teams, with a strong understanding of the nuances across all the different regions
- You can confidently navigate both direct and partner led selling motions
- You have a core understanding of revenue recognition principles
- You have a strong understanding of standard SAAS terms and conditions and the standard commercial negotiation requests that are part of the deal
- You communicate clearly and with structure, synthesizing complex problems and driving alignment across teams
- You thrive in cross-cultural, cross-time zone environments, and are comfortable with ambiguity - with a bias toward action, learning, and iteration
