Job Category: OperationalJob Description:ABOUT THE ROLENorthumbria Sport is seeking a Sport Assistant to support the daily operations of Sport Central, our state-of-the-art sports facility and events venue located at the heart of Northumbria University's City Campus. This role involves overseeing the building's day-to-day functions, supervising the pool area, and delivering excellent customer service across various front-facing duties.As a key member of the team, the Sport Assistant will ensure that all users enjoy a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience. The role requires a strong understanding of pool operations, and candidates should either hold the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or be willing to work towards it.For full details, please refer to the .ABOUT THE TEAMYou will report directly to the Duty Manager and be part of Northumbria Sport, a central department within Campus Services.   • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience working in pool operation and wet environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding of best practices in health & safety, security, and facility operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills with a practical approach.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
