We are recruiting an Assistant Director Corporate Asset Management. This pivotal role will lead on all non-social housing and commercial property duties, including the establishment and ownership of the Corporate Landlord Model and will also provide commercial expertise to our residential portfolio. This will include management of the Education Estates Team, Residential Investment Team, Operational and Investment Team and Property Information Team.Reporting to the Director of New Homes and Corporate Landlord, the Assistant Director - Corporate Asset Management will be the lead advisor for all non-social housing and commercial property responsibilities. The portfolio needs to be compliant, properly managed and achieving best value return for the authority. Islington is placing data at heart of their strategy as to how to achieve their asset management aspirations and so we need someone who values data and wants to deliver a strategy based upon it to lead the function. We need a passionate property lead, who can establish and take ownership of the corporate landlord model, and ensure that the council benefits from the maximised returns from the estate and is protected from any liabilities.Be the lead advisor of a portfolio valued at £4.942bn.|Work in one of London's most thriving and popular boroughs.You will have a substantial track record as a property leader, well versed in all aspects of commercial property management; able to get the best from your internal team and external consultants. A corporate membership and professional qualification is essential; and, you will need to be politically astute and comfortable achieving successful outcomes in a political environment.Ideally you will have managed large and complex projects, be familiar with concerto and be familiar with local authority corporate landlord models.Islington is a place rich in diversity and culture. The Council is in the position to offer top of the salary range for the right candidate.Working at Islington Council, you will have access to a generous annual leave allowance, starting at 31 days and increasing to 36 days leave per year after five years of local government service.Islington Council adopts a hybrid approach to working, in order to promote and sustain a good work-life balance.
