The Pharmacy Department is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to become part of our stores team at Furness General Hospital.The main duties will be working in a busy Pharmacy store, receiving, issuing and putting away medication, providing safe, timely, appropriate, cost-effective and high quality pharmaceutical services.You must be able to work as a team member and on an individual basis and although Pharmacy experience is not essential for this post you must be willing to complete appropriate on the job training.Part time hours: 15.5 hours per weekHours of work will be 08.30 to 12:00 Monday to Friday.Participation in Weekend and Bank Holiday rotas is requiredMain duties of the jobTo adhere to legislation, national and local standards and procedures in all tasks performed.To participate in the introduction and use of new technology and techniques in accordance with theneeds of the service.To work as a member of the pharmacy team to provide safe, timely, appropriate and high qualitypharmaceutical services covering reception, purchasing, distribution and put away.To acquire with training, a working knowledge of the pharmacy computer system in order to use asrequired following departmental policies and procedures.To maintain stock and consumable levels ensuring stock rotation within designated areas inaccordance with procedures.To perform general tidying and non-domestic cleaning duties in the department as needed, ensuringthe safe disposal of waste.Awareness of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations for the storage,handling and disposal of pharmaceutical products.About usWe operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
