SEND Keyworker Location: Cheshire East Council Are you passionate about making a real difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Cheshire East Council is looking for a dedicated SEND Keyworker to join our SEND Team. In this role, you will: Coordinate person-centred, outcome-focused assessments and support plans for children and young people with SEND. Manage a caseload of children with EHCPs, ensuring annual reviews are completed and plans updated. Act as the main point of contact for schools, colleges, specialist settings, and families, building strong, collaborative partnerships. Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, analysing professional advice to make clear and outcome-focused recommendations. Represent the Local Authority at mediation and appeals, including First Tier Tribunals. Provide advice, guidance, and support to families, enabling them to make informed choices and access appropriate provision. Monitor outcomes, track progress, and review provision to ensure that the needs of children and young people are fully met. What we're looking for: A graduate-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Education, Social Work, Health, or similar. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory frameworks, and child-centred assessment and planning. Experience of working with children and young people with SEND in education, local authority, health, or related settings. A track record of successful partnership working with schools, agencies, families, and young people. Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage a demanding caseload.
