  • Support learners in developing essential numeracy skills.
  • Strengthen learners’ abilities in reading, writing, and communication.
  • Deliver core lessons on topics such as fractions, percentages, and problem-solving.
  • Identify learners requiring extra support and apply creative strategies to aid their progress.
  • Provide engaging and confidence-building sessions that connect personal development with future employment opportunities.
Work schedule: Full time, 5 days per weekSalary scale: Up to £34,500 per annumBenefits:

Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach. This role will not be for everyone, but anyone with a slight interest is encouraged to apply and if suitable, you will have the opportunity to have a discussion with the hiring manager directly over the phone, who can provide more detail and an insight into life working in a prison.To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Maths and English at Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • A full Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Strong enthusiasm for motivating and leading within a classroom environment.
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating classroom-based programmes.
  • A proactive and supportive approach, with a commitment to helping learners achieve long-term goals.
  • Resilience, positivity, and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
