Working at Spence Street Sports Centre. Our pools are available to all, regardless of age or ability. We run adult and children lessons, pool exercise classes and public swimming sessions.With increased investment and refurbishments, we are looking for lifeguards to join our growing teams on a permanent basis.Shift PatternYou will be required to work on a shift pattern which is likely to be below but could include Early, Evenings and Weekends. Our leisure centres are typically open 6am - 10pm.week 1Monday 06:30 - 14:30 (7.5 hrs)Tuesday 06:30 - 14:30 (7.5 hrs)Wednesday 06:30 - 14:30 (7.5 hrs)Thursday 06:30 - 14:30 (7.5 hrs)Friday 06:30 - 14:30 (7.5 hrs)week 2Monday 14:00 - 21:00 (6.5 hrs)Tuesday 08:00 - 16:30 (8 hrs)Wednesday 13:30 - 21:30 (8 hrs)Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (7.5 hrs)Sunday 08:30 - 16:00 (7 hrs)What you’ll be doingYou’ll assist with the day to day running of the facility, providing the highest standard of customer service whilst ensuring the health and safety of customers. This will include being responsible for pool supervision ensuring bathers are safe and follow rules to prevent accidents and vandalism. You’ll be responsible for remedial cleaning of the building and will be required to set up and take down equipment for activities. As a strong swimmer, you’ll respond to pool emergencies.What you’ll needYou’ll already hold the NPLQ ready to start the role. For those candidates who are successful after the swim test/interview and are committed to working. You’ll be given one to one support and training to ensure you have a positive experience and achieve your full potential.To deliver these particular sessions at Spence Street, due to a genuine occupational requirement there is a need to have female applicants only for ladies only pool sessions.
