Salary: Dependent on experienceWe are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to join our vibrant secondary school in Accrington on a temporary basis from September to October 2025.The successful candidate will support the Design & Technology department by ensuring that classrooms, workshops, and resources are fully prepared for lessons. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment, assisting with practical activities, and helping to create an engaging learning environment for our students.Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for D&T lessons.
- Supporting teachers and students during practical tasks.
- Maintaining, repairing, and organising tools, machinery, and stock.
- Ensuring that health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assisting in the development of creative projects across Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, and Food Technology.
- Has practical experience in workshop/technical environments (school or industry).
- Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Has a good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Enjoys working with young people and supporting their learning.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
