- Lead and manage virtual bid teams, coordinating inputs from technical specialists, commercial, legal, finance, delivery, and external partners.
- Own and deliver the full bid lifecycle, from capture planning through to contract signing.
- Develop and manage bid programmes including scoping, shredding, storyboarding, and resource planning.
- Plan and monitor bid progress, addressing issues with support from opportunity owners and senior leadership.
- Track and manage risks throughout the bid process.
- Build and manage bid budgets, ensuring alignment with funder formats and internal approvals.
- Ensure all project delivery costs are accurately captured, signed off, and compliant with governance.
- Set up and manage formal bid reviews (e.g., red reviews, financial/ops reviews, approval to submit).
- Ensure bid deliverables meet quality, schedule, budget, and client requirements.
- Report bid progress to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Manage the handover from bid to delivery teams (e.g., Service Delivery or Project Managers).
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and external procurement standards (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, ITT/ITN, MEAT, VfM).
- Engage with clients, attend conferences/workshops, and represent TWPL in bid-related forums.
- Collaborate with and support external consortium partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with SMEs, academia, and funding bodies.
- Share best practices and upskill internal and external contributors to improve proposal quality.
- Act as the key contact for client procurement teams, managing clarifications and communications.
- Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related technical field.
- Verifiable commercial experience in similar roles with strong project management skills across multiple teams and locations.
- Must have real experience in Proposal Management, Sales, Business Development, or Account Management.
- Professional equivalent experience in the Bid Management field.
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-workstream bids in asset-intensive industries (e.g., utilities, transport, defence, energy).
- Strong understanding of commercial law and global contract frameworks (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Familiarity with ISO 55000, PAS 55, or similar asset management standards.
- Experience using CRM systems and collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Kahootz).
