Job Title: Supply/Long-Term Teaching Assistant (Primary School)Location: CrawleyWe are currently seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Supply/Long-Term Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a temporary basis covering absences or to fill long-term assignments as needed, supporting our commitment to maintaining continuity of education for our students.Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing support to classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities across various subjects and year groups.
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support and intervention, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
  • Supporting the inclusion and participation of all students in classroom activities and school events.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure the smooth running of daily routines and activities.
  • Adapting to different teaching environments and following lesson plans provided by classroom teachers.
  • Maintaining records of student progress, behaviour, and any other relevant information as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within a primary school environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and year groups as required.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to work with students with a range of abilities and needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and using initiative when required.
