We support 35 General Nursing residents in the Foyle and Faughan Units, alongside 11 Residential Dementia residents in the Moore Suite.Our commitment to excellence was recently recognised at the 2024 Staff Nursing Awards, where our Home Manager received a Highly Commended for Home Manager of the Year, and our Team Leader proudly won Care Assistant of the Year.If you're passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive and award-winning environment, we'd love to hear from you.The RoleThe Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. The role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences.Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals - the Kitchen Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.About the roleMain ResponsibilitiesEnsures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards.Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.The Benefits:Paid annual leaveThe chance to be part of a growing healthcare companyContinuous professional development and trainingValues led cultureOvertime available at an enhanced rateOpportunities for progressionPension plan (if applicable)Attractive hourly rateAccess NI fee paid forUniforms and PPE providedMonthly incentives and recognition awardsFree parkingWe do not offer sponsorship for this role .This is a casual bank role.Healthcare Ireland are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.About the companyHealthcare Ireland provides care services in an environment where individuality is emphasised and the privacy and dignity of all our residents is recognised.   • The Right to Work in the UK
  • A good standard of both verbal and written English
  • Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment
