Location: Ty PenalltaThis is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Council Tax and Business Rates Team.We pay an attractive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 and offer access to training and development opportunities.The Billing Officer is part of a team of administrators that assists in the billing and collection of council tax and business rates payable to the Council.The postholder will deal with correspondence, telephone calls and some face-to-face enquiries resulting from billing and collection action. Other duties include making payment arrangements with taxpayers and advising taxpayers facing court proceedings.Applicants must have strong customer service skills, be able to learn quickly with attention to detail and work under pressure in a busy customer-facing environment. The post involves working from home with a requirement to spend some time in the office, currently 1 or 2 days a week.Applicants must have 5 GSCEs Grade A* to C including Mathematics and English Language or equivalent qualification, be computer literate and have strong numeracy skills, together with good verbal/written communication skills.For the role, we ask that you have:
- 5 GSCEs Grade A* to C including Mathematics and English Language or equivalent qualification
- Experience of dealing with members of the public / customers and external organisations
- Ability to respect confidentiality of the work (familiarity with Data Protection Act principles).
