- Provide hands-on leadership and facilitation of continuous improvement initiatives across all assigned locations and work directly with local plant teams to assess, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement actions.
- Support RC14001 implementation.
- Plan, facilitate, and execute training and development to build continuous improvement toolkits, i.e. Policy Deployment, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM.
- Drive consistent methodologies on the production floor.
- Analyze and institute cost controls for manufacturing activities.
- Work across the network to ensure we are achieving desired targets and provides support when there is a gap.
- Establish metrics to monitor and manage financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
- Develop a culture of collaboration and ensure best practices are shared across the network.
- Leverage Lean, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement skills to identify and implement activities aligned with operational excellence strategy. This includes the implementation of programs to standardize processes, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the network.
- Coach and develop operations teams to grow their lean knowledge, coaching and change management capabilities.
- Possess proven leadership qualities in cross-functional settings to drive differentiated results.
- Willingness to directly observe and inquire at the shop floor level, where value is created – Gemba.
- High school diploma plus 4 years relevant (i.e. Lean, Continuous Improvement, Chemicals) work experience, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering Plus 2 years relevant experience.
- Must have recent experience in a manufacturing plant preferably in the chemical industry.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project.
- Understanding of general industrial process.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments, able to prioritize and meet budgets, deadlines and achieve objectives.
- Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Possess the initiative to drive change and motivated to exceed expectations.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic statistical tools preferred.
- Possess basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.
