Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Reception (Full-Time)
Location: Preston
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, Full-Time, Term-Time OnlyA vibrant and inclusive Primary School in Preston is seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their Reception class.About the Role:This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children who require additional support to access learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping to meet each child’s individual needs and development goals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to Reception-aged children with a range of SEN needs (e.g., speech and language, ASD, sensory processing, social/emotional challenges)
  • Assist with implementing EHCPs and differentiated learning plans
  • Use strategies to support emotional regulation, communication, and behaviour
  • Foster a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with staff, external professionals, and families
Requirements:
  • Essential: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within an EYFS or primary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and inclusive teaching strategies
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication, observation, and record-keeping skills
