Read below for more info..Key skills required for this roleCyber, engineer, principalImportantLead Systems EngineerJob descriptionOur client, a leading organisation in the technology sector, is currently seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join their Materials and Mechanical Metrology department on a permanent basis.Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing overall systems leadership for large and complex science/engineering projects
  • Developing design specifications and conducting design activities
  • Completing technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options
  • Reviewing, agreeing, and controlling external and internal interface documents
  • Developing instrument performance models, manufacturing tolerances, and component specifications
  • Managing technical budgets and tolerances
  • Developing assembly, integration, and test plans to verify compliance with requirements
  • Managing the assembly, integration, and testing of systems and sub-systems of instruments and scientific products
  • Providing technical delivery of complex hardware and software systems
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering internal and external reviews
  • Documenting system design, processes, procedures, and test results
  • Liaising with other specialists to ensure performance is maintained and requirements are met
  • Generating and reviewing technical proposals, providing accurate estimates for effort, costs, and risks
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Physics or an applicable engineering subject area (Optical, Mechanical, Electronics, Systems, or Software) or equivalent
  • Industry experience in systems engineering across the full systems engineering lifecycle
  • Experience in developing and delivering complex instrumentation and control systems
  • Knowledge of a wide range of technologies
  • Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary science/engineering teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
