Role purpose:To deliver and collect goods between Birmingham and London on a daily basis, supporting SCC's delivery commitments.Key responsibilities:
  • Carry out daily deliveries from Birmingham to London.
  • Collect items from delivery points and return to Birmingham base.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of delivery and collection documentation.
  • Ensure all customer and internal queries are handled efficiently, with prompt responses via telephone and email.
  • Perform basic checks and maintenance of the van to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Comply with road safety legislation and SCC driving policies.
  • Liaise effectively with the logistics, stores and repair centre.
  • Maintain security and care of goods during transit.
  • Report any issues or delays promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
Skills and experience:
  • Valid full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • MPPV2 clearance (must be held or obtainable).
  • Previous van driving experience, ideally including London route planning.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and handle items safely.
  • Flexible, professional, and self motivated.
