This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with teachers, pupils, and multidisciplinary teams to promote effective teaching, learning, and pupil development.🔑 Key Responsibilities:Support for Teaching and Learning:
  • Assist in planning and preparing differentiated lessons and learning materials.
  • Lead class teaching under supervision when required.
  • Support pupils individually and in groups to access the curriculum and achieve learning goals.
  • Reinforce behavioural, social, and emotional learning strategies.
Pupil Support:
  • Promote independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
  • Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to pupils facing challenges.
Assessment & Monitoring:
  • Assist in tracking pupil progress and maintaining records.
  • Report achievements and concerns to teaching staff.
Resource Management:
  • Mentor new teaching assistants and support curriculum leaders.
  • Monitor and plan resource use for subject areas.
  • Support extended learning activities and school events.
Additional Duties:
  • Supervise pupils during breaks and mealtimes.
  • Participate in educational visits and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, and school policies.
👤 Person Specification:Qualifications & Experience:
  • GCSEs (Grades 9–4/A*–C) in English & Maths.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Learning Support or Working with Children.
  • Experience in special education and leading learning activities.
  • Additional training (e.g. First Aid, Child Protection, Behaviour Management).
  • Full, clean driving licence.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Understanding of SEND and curriculum adaptation.
  • Behaviour management and safeguarding knowledge.
  • Ability to lead learning activities and support curriculum delivery.
