A fast-evolving, service-led insurance platform is looking for a Deputy Underwriting Director to help drive performance, strategy, and governance across its underwriting operations. You'll be joining a leadership team with deep Lloyd's and London Market experience – including a Director of Underwriting with a background at the very heart of syndicate oversight. That means the standard here is high. This isn't a policy-writing role. It's a chance to shape how underwriting is structured, measured, and improved across multiple clients and portfolios. You'll play a key role in refining frameworks, embedding controls, and supporting a smarter approach to underwriting delivery – all within a business that's investing in doing things properly. You'll have the autonomy to challenge how things are done, and the platform to drive real operational change – not just talk about it. This would suit someone with strong technical underwriting experience, ideally with exposure to performance, governance, or syndicate oversight. Someone who understands the commercial side of underwriting – but also knows how to build the scaffolding that supports it. You'll be: Supporting the Director of Underwriting on strategy, frameworks, and execution Working across teams to ensure underwriting performance is measurable, accountable, and consistent Collaborating with clients, senior stakeholders, and internal leads to deliver best-in-class standards Taking ownership of governance processes, controls, and improvement initiatives Acting as a senior figure within a high-performing, growth-minded platform If you're looking for a visible, senior-level role that blends structure with autonomy – and commercial trust with technical challenge – this could be the next step. I'm partnering with one of the most profitable syndicates in the Lloyd's market. They're looking to bring on a Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter to join their international PI team - someone who can take ownership, influence appetite, and lead from the front in a high-performing setup. This isn't about filling a seat. It's about stepping into a portfolio with global reach, built around facilities and binders, and helping define how it evolves. You'll have the trust and autonomy to run the book your way, while working closely with leadership to shape class strategy. And you'll be supported by a culture that values collaboration, speed of decision-making, and commercial common sense. The reporting line is also a market leading name... The compensation reflects the seniority of the role and the targeted bonus reflects their profitability. But more than that, it's the influence and platform on offer that makes this compelling. They're looking for someone with deep technical experience in International PI, a background managing their own book, and the confidence to engage at both the strategic and relationship level. If you're someone who enjoys being trusted to get on with it - and thrives in environments where you can actually move the needle - this will resonate. Don't miss out, reach out.
