- Support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations and staff supervision
- Lead shifts, oversee care delivery, and mentor junior team members
- Step in as the safeguarding lead when required
- Ensure record-keeping, care plans, and regulatory standards are consistently met
- Support with audits, reviews, and maintaining compliance with Ofsted requirements
- Build positive relationships with young people, professionals, and families
- Help promote independence and quality of life for the children in your care
- Work a varied shift pattern including rotational weekends (either Saturday or Sunday)
- Typical shift times finish by 8pm – occasional flexibility required in emergencies
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, and person-centred planning
- Confident team leader with strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexible to work shifts and rotational weekends
- Driving licence preferred but not essential
