Machine Operator - Skirting LineWe are looking for a Machine Operator to join our team at Howden to safely manufacture a range of finished profiles to the correct quality specification. In this role you will work with all or a combination of the following equipment: main saw, moulder, sander, vacuum storm coater, main oven and de-nibber.To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience as a Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, along with a strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety practices and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.Benefits of working as a Machine Operator:

Shift Pattern:
  • 12 hour rotating shifts (consisting of 4 days and 3 nights with 3 days every third week)
The role:
  • Performing machine pre use safety checks and setting up the machine in the allocated time frame using the specific SOP
  • Continuous monitoring of the machine during production
  • Performing detailed process quality checks in accordance with the area SOP and in line with the published control plans and gauges provided
  • Weekly autonomous and preventative maintenance
  • Performing minor adjustments when required and ensuring the area is maintained to the agreed housekeeping standards
  • Work to drawing specifications in order to produce products accurately and to the correct quality standards
What we’re looking for:
  • Production or manufacturing experience working in a fast-paced factory environment
  • Ability to read and understand manual handling risk assessments
  • FLT experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement approach to continually seek ways to improve our processes
