- Delivery of city-wide and region-wide decarbonisation programmes
- Delivery of place-based net zero projects through delivery support.
- Development and delivery of decarbonisation strategies and delivery plans
- Experience of developing and delivering area-wide sustainability and net zero strategy and delivery programmes (e.g. LHEES/LAEP/Heat Network Zoning).
- Experience supporting local authorities and/or national governments on delivery of place-based, large-scale and nation/region-wide projects (e.g. retrofits and heat networks) decarbonising the built environment.
- Strong understanding of the climate, decarbonisation and heat in buildings policy landscape in Scotland as well as an ability to incorporate policies into strategies and delivery programmes.
- Programme and project management, including managing budgets and a project team.
- Commission management including defining scope with the client and quality control of deliverables and outputs.
- Experience of service and business development including preparing proposals and bidding.
- Good understanding of low and zero carbon technologies and strategies to reduce emissions in buildings (e.g. renewable energy, heat networks, heat pumps and fabric measures)
- Demonstrably excellent written communication skills (e.g. ability to simplify complex subjects into implementable strategies and delivery plans);
- Excellent client and/or stakeholder relationship management experience in the context of decarbonisation projects;
- Competent user of data management software (Excel at least but other skills beneficial) and systems for data cleansing, management, analytics, and quality assurance;
- Good commercial awareness including the ability to articulate business decisions within the wider context and market trends – our clients are spending £millions and trust us to get the best possible returns for such investment.
- Capable of independently completing tasks and activities and taking responsibility for your own time management and ability to work towards overall project timescales and potentially tight deadlines;
- Expected to support business generation activities where required, such as bid writing and developing proposals;
- Capable of building strong, professional client relationships and identifying and resolving client’s issues;
- Able to analyse information quickly and efficiently, choose or recommend from a range of options and make decisions where the parameters are unclear and judgement needs to be exercised;
- Aside from accepting personal responsibility for the quality and commercial delivery aspects of your work you will be expected to develop skills and share knowledge within the whole consulting practice;
- Well organised and methodical, with good attention to detail.
- Able to manage commissions, including client liaison, team resource management and budget management
