This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, ensuring continuity of learning for students during teacher absences.The Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms and ensuring students remain on-task with pre-set work. Your main duties will include:
- Supervising classes of students in the absence of their regular teacher.
- Managing the behaviour of students to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Distributing and explaining pre-planned lesson materials.
- Assisting students with their work and answering questions to the best of your ability.
- Providing feedback to the returning teacher on the progress made and any issues that arose.
- Upholding the school's policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Proven experience working with young people, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Confidence and strong presence to effectively manage a classroom of secondary school students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be adaptable, resilient, and think on your feet.
- A proactive and positive attitude.
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or the willingness to obtain one).
