Trial Days Available: Wednesday 3rd September 2025As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:Support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (from low to high support), PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and speech/language communication differencesHelp young people who may be at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or involvement with the youth justice systemUse neurodiversity-informed approaches to reduce anxiety, build routines, and scaffold communication and emotional regulationEmpower pupils to develop resilience, self-awareness, and healthy peer relationshipsBe a consistent, trusted adult in a trauma-informed educational settingThis role is ideal if you’re pursuing a career in:Youth Justice or Probation ServicesBehavioural or Educational PsychologySocial Work or Family SupportPrison, Court, or Community Rehabilitation ServicesYour Responsibilities Will Include:Providing structured 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN, SEMH, and autism spectrum conditionsDelivering behavioural and sensory regulation strategies tailored to individual neurocognitive profilesAssisting with personalised learning plans that reflect emotional needs and academic goalsSupporting pupils in developing executive function, social reasoning, and life skillsCollaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and refine interventionsParticipating in de-escalation and relational behaviour support (full training provided)
