To help us deliver this, we have an exciting role for an experienced Test Manager to build and lead our assurance and testing capability.This is a pivotal role where you'll shape our testing strategy for today's projects, and also define how assurance and testing evolves for the future. We are on a mission to redefine the way water companies connect with their customers and communities, and to make better use of water and safeguard the local environment now and in the future.The RoleAs our Test Manager, you'll be the go-to expert in assurance and testing. You'll:
  • Develop and embed a fit-for-purpose Test Strategy across all major technology change programmes.
  • Lead on functional and non-functional testing, ensuring changes are delivered right the first time.
  • Build our testing capability from shaping processes and tools, to creating a roadmap for automation.
  • Champion a quality-first mindset, working closely with Architects, Developers, BAs, and Product Owners.
  • Oversee test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting.
  • Coordinate testing environments and establish a simple, effective ownership model.
  • Lead user acceptance testing, making it simple and effective for business colleagues to engage.
  • Keep us at the forefront of testing best practice, introducing new approaches that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
This role offers the chance to make a real impact defining how testing supports our transformation and acting as a trusted subject-matter expert across the organisation.About YouYou'll bring:
  • Proven experience as a Test Manager in digital transformation or customer-facing platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of QA best practice, Agile and Waterfall delivery, and cross-platform testing (web, mobile, APIs, SaaS).
  • Experience with security and load testing tools (e.g. OWASP, JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management - able to bridge the gap between technical teams and the business.
  • Experience working with external IT partners or contractors.
  • A collaborative mindset and a real passion for embedding quality.
Desirable skills: ISTQB certification, utilities or public sector experience, managing offshore teams, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and BrowserStack.Benefits:
  • Salary £57,000 - £65,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience
  • Hybrid role with 2 days onsite in Hatfield
