Psychology GraduateAre you a Psychology Graduate, or have studied a degree in a related field?Are you passionate about supporting young people?Are you looking for a challenging role which involves supporting young people to help inspire pupils to succeed?Teaching personnel are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a role in a SEN (Special Educational Needs) school based in Coventry This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm and will involve supporting young people with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.This school provides an inclusive education for children between the ages 2 – 16 with a range of special needs including autism, challenging needs, and learning difficulties. Some of the children may require assistance with personal care, so you must be willing to support with this area of the role. The successful Psychology Graduate will have a theoretical understanding of Psychology and Special Educational Needs.If you have a genuine passion for helping young people with SEN engage in education and want to make a positive impact on their educational journey, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Applications may also be considered without a Psychology degree if you have relevant experience in:

  • Personal assistant work
  • Residential care work
  • Community based work
Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field
  • Passion for working with young children and making a positive impact in their education
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Patience, empathy and, ability to build strong rapport with pupils
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting teaching staff in the delivery of lessons
  • Delivering small group sessions
  • Providing one to one support to students who require additional help
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
