Do you have the skills and compassion to help children overcome barriers to learning and develop in a positive, inclusive environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a vibrant primary school in Tewkesbury as a Behaviour Support Assistant.This friendly school is looking for a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive individual to support students across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children with challenging behaviour and SEND to manage their emotions, develop positive behaviour, and engage with learning.Academics Ltd is seeking someone with experience in supporting children with behavioural challenges, or with a strong desire to develop skills in this area. You will be providing 1:1 and small group support, working closely with students, teachers, and other staff to create an environment that promotes positive behaviour and supports the emotional and social development of each child.Role Details:

  • Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with challenging behaviour and SEND, helping them to regulate their emotions and engage in learning.
  • Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to support children in overcoming behavioural challenges.
  • Work with teachers and staff to foster a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to create and review personalised plans for each child.
  • Support children during lessons, breaks, and other activities to ensure their emotional well-being and safety.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking someone who is patient, empathetic, and flexible, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and constructively.
